In loving memory of Jibraan
Our mission is to fund cutting-edge medical research to reduce the sepsis mortality in patients with Leukaemia and other cancers. The Foundation was set up in memory of our 18-year old son Jibraan who passed away in November 2024 as a result of sepsis associated with treatment of his leukaemia.

Why we exist
Global diagnoses of leukaemia annually, each at risk of complications.
Deaths worldwide are associated with sepsis.
Of leukaemia-related deaths involve sepsis during treatment.

what we aim to achieve
Our ultimate goal, in Jibraan’s memory, is to discover new treatment and management options to ensure that chemotherapy-associated sepsis is a thing of the past.
We fund innovative research to improve the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-associated sepsis in leukaemia patients.
Practical grants, resources and community for families walking the road we walked.
Our goal
From bake sales to marathons — everyday people carrying Jibraan’s spark forward.
We’re using Jibraan’s story to raise awareness of sepsis in leukaemia and help drive meaningful change.
Jibraan’s Legacy
Jibraan had a brilliant mind, a quick wit and a future full of promise. He loved making people laugh, challenged everyone around him to think differently, and dreamed of studying Theoretical Physics at university.
When his life was tragically cut short by chemotherapy-associated sepsis, his family made a promise that his legacy would live on through research, hope and the determination to protect others.
Every donation directly supports our mission to fund vital research into chemotherapy-associated sepsis and help save lives.
chemotherapy-associated sepsis
Leukaemia is a group of cancers in the bone marrow, causing an abnormal increase in the number of white blood cells produced
Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection and remains a major risk during chemotherapy for leukaemia, affecting up to 63% of patients.
As we gear up towards awarding our first research grants, we have defined a comprehensive Research Strategy
Every gift, every hour of your time, every share of Jibraan’s story turns into research that will save someone else.
Research milestones, community stories, campaign news — the ongoing work of keeping Jibraan’s promise.
Stay up to date with the latest from JCSR, including our research, fundraising and ongoing work to help improve outcomes for patients.
For researchers
We welcome proposals from UK-based principal investigators studying sepsis in immunocompromised oncology patients. Small seed grants and longer collaborative funding available.
